SHIPFLOW
Website Redesign & Implementation - Internship (12 weeks)
I redesigned and rebuilt shipflow.se, the public-facing site for Flowtech International AB. The platform is used by shipyards, design offices, and universities across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. I worked as the sole designer and developer, from user interviews through production launch.

Process
- 1
Research & Discovery
Ran a two-week discovery phase. I audited the existing site, analysed several competitor platforms, and researched naval architecture to prepare informed interview questions. I then interviewed Flowtech's directing manager and a daily software user to learn what was missing, confusing, or unnecessary.
- 2
Design
Spent two weeks establishing the color, typography, and layout, then designed the screens. A third week of stakeholder feedback helped settle the page structure, components, and content hierarchy.
- 3
Build
Evaluated the platform options and chose WordPress with HostUp hosting. WordPress was new to me, but I learned it quickly and spent 7 weeks building custom post types, role-based user profiles, and plugin integrations (ACF, Contact Form 7, Fluent Support, Brevo) around the finished design. I also found an alternative way to share tutorial videos with Chinese customers who could not use YouTube.
- 4
Launch & Handover
Reviewed every core flow with the directing manager before going live, including forms, login, document downloads, video playback, and email. I then wrote full handover documentation covering hosting, admin access, and day-to-day content management.

- •Interviewed Flowtech's directing manager and an in-house engineer to find what was missing, confusing, or unnecessary in the existing site
- •Ran a 3-week design process, starting with visual direction and refining each page until stakeholders were happy with it
- •Evaluated hosting and platform options, chose WordPress, and recommended HostUp
- •Built custom post types for news, documents, video tutorials, and a publications directory, plus role-based user profiles with license display
- •Integrated Contact Form 7, Profile Builder, Fluent Support, ACF, Brevo email, Newsletter, and Yoast SEO

Accessibility
Used semantic HTML and a clear heading hierarchy throughout the site. All interactive elements are keyboard-accessible, and breadcrumbs help users orient themselves on every interior page.
Given the 12-week timeline, I was not able to complete a full accessibility audit. Instead, I prioritized accessible foundations during design and implementation.

Design System
Created a foundational design system in Figma covering color styles, a typography scale, and reusable components. The library includes cards and primary and ghost button variants with documented default and hover states.
